Status:	As reported in the Minutes of the 1999 Steering Committee Meeting - November 17th, 1999 - Hotel Okura - Japan - Tokyo "New Numbers For A New Economy: Why the Information Society Needs New Economic Measurements" - ITIC - USA Rhett Dawson noted that Les Simon had circulated a further refinement of his original paper but that no further work had been done. Action: After considerable discussion, ITI agreed to prepare a paper on the need for governments to take the lead in developing new indicators that would reflect: the evolving impact of IT on society the impact of this dis-intermediation the evolving issues relating to personal privacy and personalization measuring productivity in the knowledge economy Action: ITIC will provide a date by which a draft of this discussion paper will be ready.
